Representing England

The best juniors in Surrey are selected for the England U11 team organised by the English Primary Schools Chess Association (EPSCA). Players are invited to join the squad on the basis of their performance in qualifying tournaments and England trials.

After they go to secondary school, the strongest players can join the National Chess Junior Squad - selection is on the basis of performance in qualifying tournaments.

Juniors can also compete for places in the FIDE Youth Championships, either by qualifying from the English Youth Grand Prix organised by the English Chess Federation (ECF) or by grade in accordance with ECF junior selection policy.
