In 2021 the SCCA entered three correspondence chess competitions. Altogether, no fewer than 47 players signed up for one or more of the competitions to play a total of 142 games!
As in past years we entered the Counties & District Correspondence Chess Championship. In this competition teams of eight boards play in three divisions with each team member playing two games. More players wanted to participate in 2021 so we increased the number of Surrey teams from three to four. We have two teams in Division 1 and two in Division 3. The competition is played on the International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) web platform - links to the cross tables are below.
This year for the first time we entered a four-board team in the States & Regions Correspondence Chess Championship, which is also played on the ICCF web platform. The Surrey team members each play 14 games against players from around the world. Our team is playing in Division 2 - links to the cross tables are below.
Also for the first time, Surrey is playing a friendly (unrated) email match over 22 boards against the Braille Chess Association. See below for the latest match score.
