Wearing face masks will not be compulsory, in line with WLTCC rules generally, but members should be sensitive to the concerns and vulnerability of other players. So if your opponent wants to wear a mask, it would be courteous to do the same.

An older vaccinated member may not want to be near an unvaccinated junior. Parents of juniors who remain on the premises should keep an eye on their child's social distancing.

Tables should be spaced apart in the bar area, with not more than five chess tables in the Newman Room, where windows should be opened.

The boards, sets, wind-up clocks and tables used should be sanitised after use; wet wipes should be available.
