Dear Club Official, The SCCA invites applications for the above mentioned post. Brian Skinner will continue with his current duties but the Board considers it to be important that he has an understudy who could take over in the event of Brian being unable to continue either on a permanent or temporary basis. Without such a backup a situation could arise where the results system would not function and there would be no fixtures program. It would be putting the clock back 10 years. In consequence this is an important position. Anyone applying for the post should be willing to do the job for several years to ensure that the necessary investment in training will be productive. Applicants must have an advanced IT background and have knowledge (and preferably experience) of these technologies: Website: HTML and FTP. Results System: MySQL, PHP, JavaScript and Ajax Fixtures program and report programs: C Operating System: Windows Training will be provided and the actual work of being an understudy will not be very demanding or need a lot of time. However in the event of needing to step into Brian's shoes the work can involve about 15 hours per week at the start of the season, including the final 2 weeks in August, and also in January. Otherwise there is normally about 5 hours work per week. If you would like to take on this very important position and have the necessary skills and time please apply to the SCCA Administrative Director. Peter Lawrence Administrative Director
